About us
I Am Alive Foundation was founded by Mateen Asif in Lahore to relieve poverty and promote the welfare of people in need.
Why “I Am Alive”
For too many people, life has been reduced to getting through the day. The name of this foundation is a statement about what life should be: not just survival, but a life with enough to eat, a chance to learn, care when you are sick, and work that pays.
We exist to close the gap between surviving and living for people in need in Lahore, one family at a time.
Our mission
To relieve poverty and promote the welfare of people in need in Lahore, so that every person we reach can do more than survive: they can live with dignity, security and hope.
Our vision
A Pakistan where no one is merely getting by, and every person has what they need to truly live.
What we stand for
- Dignity
- Everyone who comes to us is treated with respect. We keep their stories private and never use hardship for publicity.
- Fairness
- Help goes where the need is greatest, regardless of background, belief or connections.
- Honesty
- We account for what we receive and how it is spent, and we only report what has truly happened.
- Hope
- We look beyond the emergency to the day a family no longer needs our help.
